Eleaf iStick Pico 75W TC Review

The iStick Pico 75W TC designed and manufactured by Eleaf is a state-of-the-art and compact box mod delivering a maximum output of 75 watts with temperature control features. The Pico is part of the iStick family in producing one of best mods with their iStick models, also known for its pocket-sized box mods. The Pico is powered by a single 18650 battery and it introduces the Melo III Mini sub ohm tank to go along with the Pico device.

Pico 75W TC Appearance and Design

The size of the Pico 75W is what stands out for this device. It is discreet and comfortable to carry, unlike those bulky box mods. The box mod measures at a height of 70.6mm (2.78in) without the tank, a length of 45.2mm (1.78in), and a width of 23.2mm (0.91in), which is one of the most compact sub ohm devices out there. With the Melo III included, it adds another 55 millimeters (2.17in) in height. When you compare this to any other devices out there, the Pico 75W TC kit stands out for its miniature size.

The design is beautifully crafted with curved and round edges to grip securely in any hands including very small hands. The coating is a shimmering texture leaving the devices looking more elegant with a non-slip matte finish. And of course, we can’t deny its appealing size. The placement of the 18650 battery is on the top end of the device by removing the cap. An interesting note is that the 18650 battery is taller in height than the Pico device, but with the extension cap, it allows the battery to fit perfectly in place while containing its small shape. The bottom of the device includes eight vent holes for better battery circulation.

Most devices’ adjustment buttons sit on the side of the device where the screen and fire button is at, but Eleaf positioned the buttons underneath the device. This allows the buttons to stay at a good size without having to miniaturize the buttons since the device is scaled down. It might be a little weird at first since we are so used to the adjustment buttons are the sides of the device. There was no issue with the adjustment buttons being accidently altered, which is enclosed in the body. The firing button is curved in with the shape of the mod giving it a flush appearance. It might take time getting used to the fire button since it does not pop out of the device too much.

The LCD screen is quite large for such a small device. The display will show the current battery life, resistance, and the current wattage/temperature. The current wattage/temperature will be displayed in larger fonts, while the other settings are in smaller fonts. The display will switch to a puff timer when the device is being fired up. Under the display lies the charging port for the device. The Pico 75W uses a micro USB cable to charge the mod, also giving you the ability to upgrade to the latest firmware using the micro USB port.

Melo III Mini Appearance and Design

The Melo III Mini is your standard small-sized sub ohm tank capable of working with temperature control coils. It is known as the Melo Mini due to the small size but yet having a 22mm diameter. The height of the Mini measures at 55mm (2.17in) including the stainless steel drip tip. The tank is shorter than a majority of sub ohm tanks in the market. But since the Melo III Mini is small, it has a limited e-liquid capacity of only 2ml.

The Melo III features a top filling method, which is achieved by twisting off the top part of the tank, where the drip tip is attached too. The filling can be done fast and quick without having to remove the tank from the device. The metal mouthpiece is wide-bore for better vapor production with heat insulation to prevent the tip from getting too hot.

As for the airflow control system, the Melo III Mini has an invisible design airflow control giving it a more fashionable sense of appearance. But when it comes to a non-visible airflow control, an adjustment needs to be made by testing out the airflow by sucking in and out compared to adjusting it by seeing the airflow size. This is not a big issue, which the airflow setting tends to not move around very much once it is set.

Performance and Usage

Using the Pico 75W is easy just like most temperature control and sub ohm devices. With a simple five click of the firing button, it will turn on and off the device. Three clicks of the fire button will get to the menu, where you can cycle through your mode selections. The device supports Variable Wattage, Bypass, temperature control of Nickel, Titanium, and Stainless Steel and addition to those modes, TCR mode (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance) is available with three memory modes to select from.

Flipping the screen of the device can be easily done by holding the + and – button when the device is off. To turn the device in stealth mode, which turns off the LCD display while vaping, hold down the negative and fire button while the device is turned on. Holding down the + and fire button while the device is off will show the current battery voltage.

For a small beautiful designed sub ohm device, this little thing packs a punch for performance wise. The Pico might be cute and tiny, but it sure doesn’t act cute. Surely it is aggressive, though. It competes with other high-quality box mods in the market. The device was very responsive and consistently reliable in performing its duty. The iStick Pico has a maximum output of 75W while going up to 600°F or 300°C in temperature control mode.

The battery drain on the Pico 75W TC mod is pretty good when vaping fairly and vaping at medium wattage. Heavier vapers will drain out the battery pretty quick when chain vaping or using high wattage. But for such a small device, the battery life is great because it uses an external 18650 battery.

The Melo 3 Mini came with two Kanthal coils of 0.5Ω and 0.3Ω. Performances for both of these coils were superb in delivering tasteful vapors. Of course, it does not compare to a RDA, but it provides good vapors for a tank system. It would have been better and more convenient with a visible airflow control for faster adjustment but this was not a big issue. Airflow is big enough to get big vapors and small enough for good lung hits. While the tank produces effective taste, the flaw is the limited capacity of 2ml, which you can go through pretty fast. But you have to give something to gain something, which is capacity for appearance.

Conclusion

There is no denying that the Pico 75W TC mod is a stunning designed and portable advanced personal vaporizer. The tiny and cute body is what the Pico is all about, and of course, the power it brings along with it. The mod provides consistent vapor with great flavor with the Melo III Mini. The downside is that the small capacity but that is the reason why the device is pocket size with great features and easy usage. Eleaf adds a great device to the iStick family and Pico is a brilliant device to succeed after the latest mod with its performance and appearance.
