Smok Treebox Mini 75W Review
Posted by
onIf you are looking for a powerful box mod with a totally different nature of design, then the Treebox Mini 75W is the ideal box mod.
The Treebox Mini is made by Smoktech, which is one of the leading providers of e-cig devices and tanks out in the market right now, who has been in the vaping game for over 3 years. With its unique and strong performance, the Treebox Mini adds to the box mod market with its featured wooden design and advanced temperature control technology.
Design and Build
The design of the Treebox Mini 75W is uniquely crafted with Brazilian Zebrawood. The device comes with a reddish burgundy color with a smooth coating. Since it is designed with zebrawood, the device is lightweight weighing around 80g, which can easily be carried around, with the battery and tank weighing the most. The exterior is gorgeous and exclusive due to the fact it is constructed with Brazilian Zebrawood compared to the typical stainless steel and aluminum body.
The Treebox Mini is pretty compact in size and it is somewhat comfortable to hold even with small hands. It is a little fatter than eVic-VTC Mini and Subox Mini but not as comfortable because the Treebox comes with a longer width and sharp edges. The width of the device is 28mm compared to the 22mm of the eVic-VTC Mini. The height of the Smok Treebox is 94mm with a length of 40mm.
Besides having a wooden body, the Treebox is also made with stainless steel parts for more durability. The three buttons on the mod are solid and there shouldn’t be an issue with the button accidently being pressed when carrying it in tight compartments unless pressed against something heavily. There is a clicking and a feel to the button when pressed, so it allows you to know when you are pressing the button. The buttons do rattle when the box mod is being moved around, which can annoy some users but it shouldn’t be an issue for most. The 510 connector uses brass plating and comes spring loaded so it can properly connect to most atomizer tanks and give it a flush appearance.
The Mini 75W uses one 18650 battery and it comes with a magnet wooden cover. The cover has four magnets to ensure the cover stays in place. There is a groove at the bottom of the cover to allow you to easily remove it. The battery compartment includes a spring on the negative terminal to ensure there is a proper connection with a ribbon to assist in removing the battery. The Treebox includes twelve vented holes at the bottom of the mod to certify proper venting for the battery. The mod does not have an internal micro USB battery port, which is unfortunate because it will require an external battery charger.
The Smoktech Treebox comes with a bright and clear OLED display. The display is not too large in size and takes a small portion of the mod. It displays the current atomizer resistance, battery life, current wattage and voltage, and current temperature with the temperature mode. Even with a tiny screen, there are many options available in this simple timbered up mod.
Operation and Options
For a mini box mod, the Treebox offers many features and options for you to fine-tune. Easy to set up, three buttons make it easier to navigate. Clicking the firing button three times will take you to the menu screen with all the accessible preferences. The fire button is used to enter the selection, while the positive and negative button are used to navigate.
The first option will allow you to change the setting from wattage to temperature and vice versa. The second option gives you the option of choosing the correct TC coil currently being used. There are three selections of coils to choose from: stainless steel, nickel, and titanium. After choosing the type of coils, it will let you select the amount of coil being used, single or dual coil.
Since the wattage is automatically set when using temperature control mode, the device allows you to alter the wattage by giving you three options of Soft, Normal, or Hard. Soft lowers the initial wattage by 10%, whereas Hard increases the wattage by 10%, and Normal keep it at the normal wattage. These three options make it easier by not having to worry about what wattage to set when using temp control since the chipsets it to ideal wattage.
The next option lets you choose the amount of time for the display to stay on. There is also a puff counter option that shows the current puff count also allowing you to reset the count and adjusting the amount of puff count by using the positive and negative button.
The screen orientation can be altered to make it suitable for right or left handed users making the display easier to read.
The next option is temperature coefficient of resistance, which is more complicated to use because you will need to understand the resistance change factor. It is not necessary to use this option unless you understand the science behind it.
The last option available for the Smok Treebox 75W Mini is the Adjustable Initial Resistance. It gives you the ability to adjust the initial resistance of the atomizer. This option is critical when there is a wrong reading of the resistance of the atomizer due to poor contact. When the reading of the resistance is off, it can lead to a difference in temperature, so this option allows you to adjust the coil to the correct resistance for proper temperature production.
And to turn off the device, it is the last setting on the menu. Pressing the button 5 times will not shut down the device, but it will lock and unlock the device.
Performance
The Smok Treebox 75W Mini performed well as it was expected to coming from a reputable brand. In wattage mode, the device had no issue powering device up to 75W. Performed well like any other high-quality mods would do. The device provided consistent power without any loss of power.
The temperature control on the Smok Treebox is a more advanced temp control device allowing you to adjust the setting to more precision from adjusting the initial ohm resistance to adjustment to the temperature coefficient of resistance.
The circuit board of the Treebox 75W includes a Dual Driver Output Mode to read atomizers as low as 0.06ohm in temperature control mod. Using High-Frequency Dynamic Monitoring Resistance Technology, the device detects atomizer resistance once every 250 microseconds to adjust the temperature correctly and accurately.
Testing the temperature device with the Aspire Triton with 0.15ohm nickel coils performed exceptional well with productive vapor production. The temperature remains cool throughout the vape even when vaping over 6 seconds, still staying consistent. The reading of the atomizer resistance Treebox is pretty accurate even allowing you to change the resistance to your choice. The Treebox Mini gives temperature control more flexibility with additional temperature controls options.
Conclusion
The Smoktech Treebox is a well-made mini box mod capable of achieving high-quality temperature control vaping. With more features than a standard temp control box mod, the Treebox is an outstanding TC mod. The design is exclusive and lavish, featuring a crafted Brazilian Zebrawood body with a sizable frame. The construction of the device is unlike any other temp control mods out there. The Treebox performs like a high technologize device maintaining a rich and natural exterior.
